Student Cancellations/Make-Up Policy

Make-up classes due to absences are not guaranteed and can only be taken during the current session in other scheduled classes. For example, a student that missed a Wednesday class can come on Friday or Sunday during other scheduled classes. Make-up classes are limited to one make-up class for the current session or arranged with the instructor under other circumstances. Lessons must be canceled by calling the office before 12:00 noon for weekday lessons, or before 8:30 a.m. for weekend lessons. Student cancellation of a make-up lesson forfeits the lesson. Student absences cannot be reimbursed.


Teacher Cancellations/School Closings

A class/lesson will be canceled by the instructor 10 minutes after the set hour if no students show up on time. There will be no make up. Lessons missed due to the teacher's absence will be made up. Emergency closings, weather related or otherwise, will be announced through www.artacademyofwestchester.com and in our answering machine, and sent to e-mail addresses provided by each family. Extra days (up to two) will be counted as additional make-up lessons. These make-up classes will be made after the end of the session. For more convenience students are welcome to come during other scheduled classes to make-up for these lessons.


Withdrawals/Refunds

If a student wishes to withdraw from lessons, a minimum of one weeks' notice must be given to the Academy office. Students who withdraw prior to their 3rd lesson will be issued a refund totaling 100% of the unused lessons. Students who withdraw after their 3rd lesson will be issued a refund totaling 50% of the unused lessons. Refunds are not given for student absences.
