One Day Still Life Intensive Workshops

10am-4pm

Each workshop focuses on specific still life issues. The workshops meet from 10am-4pm. Each workshop begins with a brief demo, after which participants then paint from provided still life materials. Any color medium is welcome; instructor will demo using oil paint.

The fee for each workshop is $125.

January 25 - Setting up a still life: Viewpoint, perspective, lighting techniques. Composition, placement, balance, color weight. Simplifying form.

February 22 - Value, contrasts. Translating color into value. Finding planes of color & value in form. Mixing grey and neutral colors. Composing a painting using grey and saturated color.

March 29 - Interpreting the colors in white workshop: Subtle variations, transition planes. Simplifying glass forms.
